STORY 9 :
THE MIRROR CHILD
Don’t look into any mirror while reading this.
Because the mirror doesn’t just reflect… it remembers who stared too long.
Once seen.
Never forgotten.
Section 1 :
THE APARTMENT WHERE NO
MIRROR STAYED CLEAN
In a crumbling old apartment complex in Delhi’s Mehrauli district, flat 4C had been empty for almost seven years.
Not because of rent, not because of ghosts… but because no mirror survived there more than three days.
Tenants always moved out with one story:
“We cleaned the mirror… and it showed us someone else.”
Not a shadow.
Not a trick.
A child.
Pale.
Standing behind them.
Smiling.
Section 2 :
A FAMILY’S LAST MOVE
In 2017, a small family moved in husband, wife, and their 8 year old daughter MARIA.
They were warned by the watchman.
“Don’t bring any mirrors inside. Or she’ll see you.”
They laughed it off.
They didn’t believe in superstitions.
They hung a full length mirror in the bedroom.
That night, the father saw tiny wet footprints across the wooden floor.
He scolded Maria for playing with water.
Maria whispered, “It wasn’t me. It was the girl in the glass.”
Section 3 :
MIRROR GAMES
On the third night, Maria didn’t sleep.
She kept looking at the mirror, whispering:
“I’ll play, but you have to promise you won’t take mommy too.”
When her parents rushed to check, they saw her just… smiling at her reflection.
But her reflection did not move with her.
It blinked after she did.
Section 4 :
THE ORIGIN OF THE
MIRROR
Years ago, in that very flat, lived a little orphan girl named Ira.
She used to talk to herself in mirrors because no one else would.
Until one day, she climbed onto a stool and leaned in too close to the glass, whispering:
“If I go inside, will you play with me forever?”
The next morning the mirror was shattered.
Ira’s body was never found.
Only her reflection stayed behind.
Section 5 :
BLOOD BEHIND THE
GLASS
On the seventh night, Maria’s mother awoke to the sound of humming.
From the mirror.
She saw her daughter sleeping
But inside the mirror, Maria was standing.
Her eyes were black.
She pointed at her mother… and smiled.
“She wants you next.”
The mirror cracked from inside.
The mother screamed.
And was never seen again.
Section 6 :
WHAT YOU’RE NOT
SUPPOSED TO KNOW
This story was never in the news.
Because Flat 4C is still rented out. Cheap.
People still move in.
Mirrors still show her.
Some say Ira only appears if you’re alone.
Others say she finds her way through screens too especially if you’ve read her name aloud.
You did… didn’t you?
PRECAUTION : Cover all mirrors tonight.
Especially the one closest to your bed.
If you hear three knocks on glass after midnight, do not look.
She knocks only once for fun.
The third knock is an invitation.
And if you see a small handprint on your mirror tomorrow morning…
Don’t wipe it off.
She hates being forgotten……
